Who is a Dyslexia Training Designee?
Every Arizona school serving K-3 students must identify at least one teacher who is responsible for receiving approved training in #1) Understanding and Recognizing Dyslexia, #2) Reading Instruction, and #3) Intensifying Instruction. About This Training
This professional development provides the background knowledge about dyslexia that all elementary teachers need in order to understand why students with dyslexia have difficulty with reading and how to support them in the classroom.
Virtual-Live Format: The Keys trainer will use Zoom video conferencing to deliver this training in an interactive format using features such as breakout rooms and chat.

- The Reading Brain
- Screening for dyslexia
- Suggestions for structured literacy instruction: sounds, sound-symbol correspondences, syllable types, morphemes
Who should participate? Grades K-3 educators who are identified as a Dyslexia Designee for their school. Any AZ educator interested in better understanding why students with dyslexia struggle and how to support them.
