Kate taught high school and middle school English in New York for twenty-five years before becoming a Keys to Literacy trainer. During her tenure as a teacher, she served as Lead Teacher and Mentor Teacher. She also was co-coordinator for her district’s Alternative Education Program. This program was designed to meet the needs of students who did not find success in the traditional classroom setting. Kate also served on many committees in her district such as the K-12 Literacy and Response to Intervention committee. In 2020, she was inducted into her district’s Educator Wall of Distinction recognizing her as someone who has made a lasting impact on the lives of students in her community. She earned in B.A. in English from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY and her Masters of Science in Education from SUNY Brockport.
