James has been an educator for 16 years. In 2004 he began his career teaching high school English and theater in North Carolina, eventually returning home to Ohio’s public schools. He received a B.A. in Secondary Education, with an emphasis in Integrated Language Arts from The University of Akron. He has his M.S. in Education Leadership and his Ohio principal’s license from Xavier University. Most recently, he works for the Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center in Urbana, Ohio as the ELA Curriculum Specialist / Professional Development Supervisor, providing training and support to area districts. He has facilitated and presented a variety of literacy professional learning topics as well as instructional coaching support. James is passionate about empowering educators to use quality instructional strategies and to provide effective professional learning opportunities demonstrated to provide students the best learning experiences available to them.
