Pearl is an enthusiastic educator with over 10 years of experience as a Dual Language, ESL teacher and Bilingual Literacy interventionist. She has a passionate energy for research focused on culture, identity and the equity and social justice issues that arise in LatinX communities. Aside from being a Keys to Literacy Trainer, Pearl is an instructor at St. Xavier University, teaching Assessment of Bilingual Students with particular attention to culturally sustaining teaching and learning. Pearl earned her M.A. in Literacy from Northeastern Illinois University. She is a PhD candidate working on her dissertation in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment through Concordia University Chicago.
