Online Course and Live-Virtual Professional Development

Would you like to learn science-based instructional practices for teaching beginning reading skills? Take this eleven-week course that combines 36 hours of online course time interspersed with 12 hours of facilitated debrief sessions.

Online Course Modules: Complete 11 asynchronous modules – you can log in at any time to complete modules.

Virtual-Live Debrief Sessions: The Keys trainer will use Zoom video conferencing to facilitate the debrief sessions in an interactive format using features such as breakout rooms, chat, and Google shared documents.

Description:

The Keys to Beginning Reading professional development course provides background knowledge needed to teach all the components of beginning reading instruction and is aligned with the science of reading research. The instructional practices are designed to easily transfer to classroom lessons and can be integrated with any reading curriculum or reading program. Click here to learn more.

Each week you will spend 3 to 4 hours completing online course modules, followed by a Monday afternoon virtual-live debrief meeting. Meeting time ranges from 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, and meetings start at 3:30 p.m. EST. If you miss a meeting: Meetings will be recorded for viewing later.
