Jennifer is a Trainer with Keys to Literacy and began her career in education in 2004, initially working with special education students before becoming a middle school history and civics teacher in an urban school district in Massachusetts. Passionate that all students can learn with the right skills, Jennifer embedded Keys to Literacy routines into her instructional practice, knowing that middle school students needed to continue learning the literacy skills in reading comprehension and writing to access the content she was teaching. She found that all of her students benefited from this approach. Jennifer held team and department leadership positions, including being the Restorative Justice building lead for grades 6-8. She received her B.S. in History from Eastern Michigan University and her M.Ed. in Middle School Education – History from Lesley University. When Jennifer is not training, she likes to work on her art and read about new things that interest her.
