Amie is a Trainer at Keys to Literacy and began her career in education in 1993. She has taught high school English and social studies, which includes AP Government, AP English Literature, and college credit courses at both high school and a local college. She served as the Curriculum Director for six years before retiring from public education. Amie enjoys sharing teaching strategies with educators and has a particular passion for supporting content teachers in middle and high school classrooms on how to best meet their students’ literacy needs. She also loves sharing books with friends and colleagues and has even created a front yard free library for everyone in her neighborhood to enjoy. Amie holds a B.A. in English Literature and Political Science from Kenyon College, as well as a teaching license from Ashland University, where she earned her M.Ed.
