Keys to Literacy has multiple, flexible online options for accessing our literacy professional development topics and programs.

Option 1: All Live Virtual Training Delivered by Keys to Literacy Trainers

Contact us to develop a plan to replace onsite, face-to-face training and implementation coaching with live, virtual online training. Available for all Keys to Literacy professional development programs.

Option 2: Facilitated Online Courses

Our online courses can be combined with live, virtual meetings with Keys to Literacy trainers. Teachers complete online courses a few modules at a time and participate in virtual live meetings scheduled on set dates. Contact us to develop a customized plan for your school or district.

Option 3: Asynchronous Online Courses

Educators can access our professional development using our online courses. Each course is organized into modules that include interactive activities, readings, video clips, and activities that allow users to master course content. When taken alone, the courses are asynchronous which means users can complete the course at their convenience; they may log in at any time to work through the modules at their own pace.

Keys to Beginning Reading: Covers all components of beginning reading instruction. (K-5) Approximately 36 hours. Free training book included.

The Key Comprehension Routine: Instruction for teaching comprehension strategies. (4-12) Approximately 16 hours. Free training book included.

The Key Vocabulary Routine: Instruction for teaching academic vocabulary in all subjects. (4-12) Approximately 15 hours. Free training book included.

Keys to Content Writing: Instruction for teaching writing and writing-to-learn in all subjects. (4-12) Approximately 15 hours. Free training book included.

Keys to Early Writing: Instruction for teaching early writing skills to students in K-2. Approximately 15 hours. Free training book included.

Understanding Dyslexia: Information about dyslexia and how to support students with dyslexia. (all grades)  Approximately 6 hours

How to Teach Two-Column Note Taking: Instruction for helping students use notes to support comprehension and writing. (4-12) Approximately 5 hours

How to Teach Question Generation: Teaching students to generate questions to support comprehension. (4-12) Approximately 3 hours

Keys to Literacy Comprehension Coach Training: Training to become a school peer coach for The Key Comprehension Routine. Completion of Key Comprehension Routine teacher training is a pre-requisite. (4-12) Approximately 11 hours CONTACT KTL TO REGISTER FOR THIS COURSE.
