Amy is an educator with over 15 years of experience in public schools where she worked as a classroom teacher, a reading specialist, and an interventionist. More recently, Amy spent 5 years working as a literacy consultant at Region 14 Education Service Center in Texas. During her time there, she led both full-time and part-time cohorts of teachers through Texas Reading Academies, developed professional development, and trained secondary English Language Arts (ELA) teachers. Amy has a bachelor’s degree in English and an M. Ed in Curriculum & Instruction from West Texas A&M University. Training she has had in the Science of Reading, including LETRS, changed the way Amy approaches literacy instruction. She is eager to share this knowledge and her experiences with others to ensure that all students have access to literacy instruction that works.
