Donna’s career in education began as a Title 1 interventionist in the Worcester Public School System. Throughout her career, Donna also served as a classroom teacher, Reading Recovery teacher, reading specialist and literacy coach. Most recently, she was an instructional coach, supporting teachers in delivering high-quality literacy instruction across the curriculum before retiring in June, 2012. Donna has also presented literacy workshops at state and national conferences, and has provided job-embedded literacy professional development at the school and district levels. In addition to being a trainer for Keys to Literacy, Donna also works as an adjunct professor at American International College (AIC), where she teaches a variety of literacy courses, supervises practicum students and provides support to other adjunct professors. Donna has a master’s degree in early childhood education from Worcester State College, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts in elementary education. She holds certification in elementary education, reading and administration. Donna is co-author of a children’s bookUnpopular Animals and was a finalist for Worcester’s Teacher of the Year award in 2012.
