John is a Trainer with Keys to Literacy and began his career in education in 2009 as an elementary school teacher in the Arkansas Delta. In the years since, he has taught a variety of elementary and middle school grades, served as an assistant principal and principal, and worked as a literacy specialist for the Rhode Island Department of Education, where he spent time supporting the Right to Read Act. He thoroughly enjoys coaching teachers and leaders as they work to transform their instructional practices. John has a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Gustavus Adolphus College and holds a Master’s of Education in Administration and Supervision from National Louis University. John lives in Providence, Rhode Island, and enjoys being outdoors with his wife and son.
