Linda is a Trainer with Keys to Literacy and has over 35 years of experience teaching in Ohio public schools as a primary and intermediate classroom teacher, library/media specialist, and early reading teacher. For 19 years, she was also a literacy specialist working closely with classroom teachers, including modeling lessons, co-teaching, and coaching for K-5 classroom literacy instruction. Linda has developed summer reading programs for struggling students. Linda trained as a fellow for the Ohio Writing Project, and has trained teachers in Six Traits Writing. After retiring from public schools, and before joining Keys to Literacy, Linda continued her work in the field as a literacy consultant to schools across the U.S. for Scholastic, Inc. This professional development work included job-embedded coaching for classroom teachers. Linda received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Bowling Green State University and an M.S. in Library Science from Kent State University. She believes in empowering educators to build best practices in literacy instruction that provide students with strong literacy experiences as well as gain tools for learning.
