Lynn has worked as a public educator for 30 years. She started her career in the classroom as a K-6 Resource Teacher with a focus on students with Learning Disabilities and later became licensed to teach Birth thru Kindergarten as well as students with behavior and emotional challenges. Desiring to increase opportunities to support teachers and students, she pursued licensure as a Reading Specialist and as an administrator. For seven years she served at a district office implementing a State Improvement Project Grant for literacy then as an Exceptional Children Program Director. When the opportunity came available to expand strong literacy implementation from a local to the state level, she transitioned to the NC Department of Public Instruction as a Literacy Consultant. It was in this position that she discovered Keys to Literacy. In 2014 Lynn joined another DPI Division as a Regional MTSS Consultant providing professional development and coaching to district teams. Her most recent work was a statewide position as Strategic Outreach and Communication Consultant. These professional experiences also afforded Lynn the chance to serve as an adjunct professor and as a reading tutor for students in her community.
