Melisa Rice, M. Ed.


Melisa Rice has been privileged to work with teachers and students in a variety of educational settings as a classroom teacher, literacy coach and supervisor for practicum students. She also worked as a reading specialist at the Boston University Donald Durrell Reading & Writing Clinic and a Early Grades Literacy Consultant for state-funded grants. Melisa joined the Keys to Literacy team in 2018 and is a national consultant/ trainer for all of the Keys to Literacy professional development offerings including Letterland. Melisa is a contributing content developer for Keys to Beginning Reading, Keys to Early Writing and Keys to Vocabulary Routine. Melisa received her B.A from Providence College in Elementary & Special Education, a Masters in Reading Education from Boston University and a CAGS in Education Leadership & Policy Studies from Boston University/ Wheelock College of Education. When Melisa is not reading children’s books, she can be found savoring the evening glow at the beach and taking nature walks with her husband, three children and her loving Golden Retriever.
