Mica Byrum, M.Ed.

Mica has 20+ years of experience as an elementary educator with a passion for literacy instruction.  Throughout her career, she has been a teacher in grades PreK-4, a Reading Specialist, and Oklahoma State Department of Education Literacy Coach. Five years of her career she spent traveling across the United States working directly with educators from various demographic school districts providing customized literacy PD and comprehensive literacy consulting. Most recently, Mica spent time as the leading Literacy Instructional Coach in a large Oklahoma school district. She received her B.S in PreK-8 Education and M.Ed. K-12 Reading Education. She lives in Oklahoma with her husband sharing the adventures and joys of her two grown children and three grandchildren. Mica happily and passionately shares her literacy knowledge with educators and parents as she firmly believes as Frederick Douglass states “Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.”
