Leading Research-Based Writing Instruction
with The Writing Rope (Live Virtual Training)
This is a one-day training. April 22, 2025
Live, Virtual Professional Development
This one-day professional development is designed for leaders and instructional coaches guiding research-based writing instruction across schools and districts.
The session begins with an overview of The Writing Rope by Joan Sedita, a framework that organizes effective writing instruction into five key strands based on research. Participants will then explore Keys to Early Writing, a course providing essential knowledge for teaching foundational writing skills. Next, they will dive into Keys to Content Writing, a professional development program focused on integrating research-based writing practices into any subject while aligning with state literacy standards.
This training offers evidence-based, developmentally appropriate strategies for students from kindergarten through grade 12, easily adaptable to any writing curriculum or content area.
*Registrations received after April 7 cannot be guaranteed a book in time for the training.
