KTL will work with you to develop a customized professional learning plan that can begin as early as the fall of 2021. LA Literacy Content Leader Training

Keys to Literacy (KTL) is an approved provider of training for the K-2 Literacy Content Leader Initiative sponsored by the LA Department of Education.

Who is a K-2 Literacy Content Leader?

K-2 Literacy Content Leaders are elementary educators who, through training, develop and prepare to share their expertise with other teachers. K-2 Literacy Content Leaders effectively improve the quality of early literacy instruction in their schools by providing coaching and professional development to fellow teachers.

What is the K-2 Literacy Content Leader training?

This is a 9-day course developed by the LDOE that provides professional development for the science of reading, including how children learn to read and best practices for teaching all the components of beginning reading.

Who should attend K-2 Literacy Content Leader training?

K-2 ELA teachers are instructional leaders in their buildings and are ready to assume greater responsibility by increasing the effectiveness of early literacy instruction for K-2 teachers.

Why choose Keys to Literacy to provide your K-2 Literacy Content Leader training?

We are experts in the training content because Keys to Literacy is one of the four professional development companies selected to collaborate with LDOE to create the 9-day K-2 Literacy Content Leader training course. In addition, only Keys to Literacy along with one of these other companies is also approved as a provider for the Louisiana Literacy Foundations training (Act 108 training for K-3 teachers).

Keys to Literacy is a nationally recognized leader in the field of literacy professional development and our trainers have deep knowledge and experience about research-based reading instruction practices.
