Ana is a Trainer at Keys to Literacy, and her career in education started over twenty years ago in the Florida Keys. Ana has been an elementary, middle school, and high school teacher, and instructional coach. She has also served as a secondary-level reading specialist, providing coaching support, writing curriculum, and delivering professional development to over 25 middle and high schools in a central Florida district. She has been a Reading First professional development coordinator, working with Just Read, Florida! to empower K-3 teachers and reading coaches throughout the state. She is a lecturer at the University of Central Florida in the Elementary Education program department, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate reading courses. Ana also continues to work with local school districts in a variety of literacy initiatives as an independent consultant. Ana received her B.S. in Elementary Education and M.Ed. in Reading Education from Florida International University. She also holds her Ed.S. in Literacy and an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in Literacy, from the University of Central Florida.
